The insider's access to Caribbean creative culture.
Sweetsop is a Los Angeles and Kingston based creative and business development agency, founded by seasoned creative executives Rachael Barrett and Tahir Garcia to research and provide opportunities, design and execute creative strategies, build brand alliances, and facilitate and develop programming that strengthens networks between the Caribbean and the international business community.
Rachael Barrett
Co-founder, cultural strategist [email protected]Rachael Barrett is a cultural strategist, curator, and founder of Three Sixty Degrees Consulting Services, a curatorial and project management practice built around the commissioning, acquisition, exhibition, and strategic development of fine art and contemporary culture. She brings a rare combination of art-world expertise, international relationship-building, and commercial fluency to projects at the intersection of culture, brand, policy, and public engagement.
Educated at Colgate University and Sotheby's Institute of Art in London, her collaborators have included artists, collectors, luxury brands, entertainment studios, governments, galleries, and institutions, building collections, developing cultural profiles, and creating meaningful connections between creative vision and strategic opportunity.
At Sweetsop Creative, she bridges contemporary art, luxury, and cultural diplomacy with access and relationships that take decades to build, connecting creative talent with institutional platforms and high-net-worth audiences, and bringing the project management rigour to ensure what's culturally ambitious is also professionally executable.
She doesn't just open doors. She knows what to do once you're inside.
Tahir Garcia
Co-founder, music executive [email protected]Tahir Garcia is a Jamaican creative, marketing strategist, music executive, DJ, and cultural curator, with a creative practice dedicated to the authentic representation and global positioning of Jamaican culture. While completing his MBA in the Netherlands, he began working with artists to strengthen their global positioning, work that contributed to his role as co-founder of the label Big Wave More Fire.
Alongside his independent work as a music executive and DJ, Tahir is part of Donavan's Yard, a dancehall-focused collective known for championing the vibrancy and future-facing pulse of Jamaican nightlife and music culture. His commercial foundation is just as sharp, built through his work at Epsilon, a global marketing and ad-tech firm within the Publicis Group, where he developed serious expertise in marketing strategy, sales, media analysis, and brand planning at scale.
At Sweetsop Creative, he brings something that can't be manufactured: genuine cultural fluency, earned audience insight, and the strategic range to translate Jamaican culture for global platforms without softening its source, its spirit, or its edge.
He knows the culture. He knows the market. And he knows how to make sure each one supports the other.
Sweetsop provides an insider's access to and perspective on Caribbean culture, Caribbean product, and the Caribbean creative marketplace.
